All of their services are free of charge.
When you first go in, it’s a good idea to speak with one of the counselors on staff. They can suggest which services are likely to benefit you the most, based on your situation.
In my past experience with Rochester Works, their resume workshops are very helpful. They are a great way to get constructive criticism on your resume and learn what it is employers are looking for in a new hire. After spending some time working on revising my resume, I received many more responses to my applications.
Looking to find a way to brush up on your interviewing skills? Then mock interview workshops are where you should focus. They’ll give you tips on how to present your qualifications effectively and help you identify interview pitfalls. These mock interviews helped me recognize where I had made mistakes in past interviews and gave me insight on how to do better in the future.
In addition to their resume workshops and interview workshops, Rochester Works offers classes in job search management, improving your LinkedIn profile, how to get training grants, negotiating job offers, cover letter writing, and even cyber security.
