RYP Equity Series: NYCLU Training on Organizing for Civil Rights
November 9, 2017 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Rochester Young Professionals and RocCity Coalition are partnering to offer an Equity Series to empower the future leaders of our city with training events to help create a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Rochester.
The Equity Series leverages Rochester’s many organizations engaged in the fight to reduce poverty, combat discrimination, and provide opportunity for all. Each of the events in the Series will provide a framework for participants to reflect, interact with others, and develop tools to create positive impact in our community.
Please join us for our next event in the series, a training on effective strategies for organizing for civil liberties, with New York Civil Liberties Chapter Director, Iman Ibid. The seminar will focus on how to effectively organize and advocate on civil liberties and civil rights issues in the Greater Rochester region. You will learn how to strategize, cultivate relationships, center the voices of marginalized community members, as well as how to build support and sustainable plans.
Light refreshments will be available and time for networking with your fellow YP’s is built into the event time.
The event is free, with a $5 suggested donation at the door, but please RSVP here: http://RYPEquitySeriesACLU.rsvpify.com.
Parking validation for the East End Garage will be available.
