Nate Bank

President

Why I Joined RYP:
I joined RYP to connect with people who see an exciting future for Rochester and want to be part of making it great. Life is better with interesting conversation, fun events and engaging community activities, and RYP helps cultivate those in Rochester.

Bio:
I am a proud Rochesterian, passionate about our city and the revival of downtown as a cultural and innovative urban core.

Although I started my career in Florida with the Cintas Corporation, I seized an opportunity to transfer to the company's Rochester location in 2007, and have been active in RYP ever since. I enrolled in law school at the University at Buffalo in 2008, but remained connected to RYP and the city I love.

I am now a South Wedgie, and a corporate and financial attorney with the law firm of Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP. You can often find me at community events around town, playing in the sand box known as Hot Shots Indoor Beach Volleyball, shredding the slopes at Bristol Mountain, or if the conditions are right even floating on a surf board out on Lake Ontario.

Brad Flower

Vice-President

Why I Joined RYP:
RYP enticed me with its perfect harmony of networking styles and interesting, like-minded people. The members of RYP are energetic and passionate, and the intrinsic synergy of the social and professional development events is unparalleled in our town.

Bio:
Although I’m not a Rochester native, I’ve come to consider this great city my home. I grew up in a small town south of Buffalo, and after receiving my BA at SUNY Geneseo, my wife and I relocated to Rochester along with our two dogs - directly between Buffalo and her hometown of Syracuse. We couldn’t be happier with the vibrant community and endless supply of events. I was ecstatic to discover an active volleyball community and strong music scene right in the heart of the city. When I’m not developing my financial advisement practice with Morgan Stanley or attending RYP events, you’ll probably find me at Hot Shots or playing at one of the local venues. And I’m always trying to squeeze in a few more peaks along my trek to be an Adirondack 46er. Whether your motivation is social or professional, please introduce yourself and I’ll be happy to share some more.

I've had the opportunity to live in a few different cities both in the US and in Canada growing up and now calling Rochester my home. I played hockey for 15 years and now play recreationally every week in addition to running and working out in the gym. Be sure to say hi at the next social!

Why I Joined RYP:
I joined RYP because I saw an opportunity to be part of a group that helps and encourages young professionals in the community to expand their knowledge and network, which is an invaluable asset.

I have worked for the CPA firm Mengel, Metzger, Barr since graduating college, and married a beautiful woman who I met in college. I am an avid athlete, who enjoys all sports but my true passion is soccer. After playing my entire life and throughout college, I began coaching an under 8 travel team for 4 years. There really is nothing more rewarding than coaching young kids in a sport that you are passionate about. Other interests I have are spending time in the Finger Lakes and the Adirondacks, enjoying time with friends and family, reading, taking time to learn something new every day, and going to the gym. When you come to our next event or see me around town, please don’t hesitate to say hi!

Lisa Hunt

Social Committee Member

Why I Joined RYP:
I joined RYP to reacquaint myself with Rochester, to be a part of the burgeoning community of young professionals and to help promote and support local business.

Bio:
As an aspiring ballerina, I left Rochester at the age of 15 to train with the National Ballet School in Toronto. I was then offered a contract to dance professionally with Ballet Arizona. After four seasons with the company, I resigned my ballet shoes in favor of a more diverse life. My transition out of ballet led me to Los Angeles where I had the opportunity to glean esoteric knowledge through my work experience, which included organizing elaborate Ferrari racing trips for the chairman of a prominent Korean company, assisting a well-known Hollywood producer with private jet travel and planning upscale events for high net worth clients and prospects. I currently work remotely for Bessemer Trust, conducting business development research.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, running, dancing, engaging in interesting conversations and social events, playing ping pong, playing piano, attending symphony/opera/ballet/musical theatre performances and making a fool out of myself singing karaoke.

Upon my return to Rochester from Boston in 2012, I quickly recognized that there is a vibrant community of young professionals who are eager to connect with like-minded individuals, take advantage of everything Rochester has to offer and truly invest in their community. I’m excited to be part of such a dynamic group and am looking forward to seeing Rochester grow as a result.
