Why I Joined RYP: Born and raised in Rochester, I truly love the Community and I think it is great that organizations like the Rochester Young Professionals are promoting growth especially in the young professional arena.

Bio: Born and raised in West Irondequoit, I attended both West Irondequoit and McQuaid Jesuit. Out of high school I initially attended M.I.T. in Boston but ultimately graduated with the 150 credits necessary for the CPA exam from SUNY Geneseo. Currently, I work in public accounting at Bonadio on the audit side and also am a part of various young professional committees such as Center for Youth, NextGen Rochester Area Community Foundation and Roc City Coalition.

Current Job: Office Manager

Hometown: Mahwah, NJ

Favorite Rochester Gem: Corbett’s Glen for hiking, trail running, and splashing in the summer. I love getting in my runs through the trails and loops but feel guilty every time I leave my pup at home as he LOVES swimming and playing in the water, and I don’t mind the splashing either.

Bio: Growing up in Northern New Jersey, I was raised in the hustle and bustle of New York City and never loved it. Moving to Rochester, thanks to the influence of my sister, allowed my husband and I the opportunity to reap the benefits of city living while still enjoying a gateway to the outdoors thanks to the finger lakes region, Lake Ontario, and the not too far away Adirondack mountains. I’ve loved being able to settle in and start creating roots in an amazing area of the country while working as a Chiropractic Assistant in Brighton. When not working, I can usually be found outside running, biking, Stand Up Paddleboarding, or snowboarding (in the winter). I also work part-time for LL Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School teaching kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboard classes on beautiful Canandaigua Lake all summer long.

Favorite Rochester Gem: The Genesee Riverway Trail  – nothing beats a dog walk, bike ride, or casual meandering alongside the water.

Bio: I moved to Rochester in January of 2011, right in the middle of a snowstorm. Despite Rochester’s harsh welcome, I fell in love with the city (though by February each year I am always missing the mild southern winters). I live in the cozy South Wedge neighborhood where I love to walk around with my two silly dogs or grab a tasty beer. I’m a self-taught web developer and designer, but I also have a degree in jewelry design and my own jewelry business, where I make custom handwriting jewelry as well as sweet little necklaces in the shape of Rochester’s city outline.
