What is code switching?

The act of adjusting language, behavior or attitude to adapt to a situation, environment, location or culture. -CaTyra Polland

A process of shifting from one linguistic code (a language or dialect) to another, depending on the social context or conversational setting. www.Britannica.com

This class provides an overview and basic understanding of the social factors of code switching. Participants will learn definitions, types of code-switching and be guided in a group discussion about code-switching dynamics. This class is facilitated by CaTyra Polland.
