Rochester Young Professionals and RocCity Coalition have partnered to offer an Equity Series to help create a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Rochester by empowering the future leaders of our city.

Please join us for our next event in the series, a discussion on race and media and how it affects us today, facilitated by David Grome of Butler/Till Media and Communications.

**Event Description
The average American spends more than 13 hours per day interacting with media.

What role does media play in shaping our opinions, attitudes, and conversations? Does the current state of our media help to unify or divide us? How might this translate to issues of race and identity?

Join alumni from the YWCA and its Person2Person program to experience words, images, and sounds that shaped The Intersection of Race & American Media in 2018. Group discussions will follow facilitated by David Grome of Butler/Till media and communications. There will be time for networking before and after the program and refreshments will be provided.

You can learn more about Person2Person and how you can participate in their upcoming summer session here:

**About the Equity Series

The Equity Series leverages Rochester’s many organizations engaged in the fight to reduce poverty, combat discrimination, and provide opportunity for all. Each of the events in the Series will provide a framework for participants to reflect, interact with others, and develop tools to create positive impact in our community.

**Logistics

Parking is available at the Mortimer Street Garage and the Midtown Parking Garage.

The venue is accessible.

The event is free, but please RSVP here: http://RYPraceandmedia.rsvpify.com/
