Rochester Young Professionals, RocCity Coalition, and NextGen are partnering to offer an Equity Series to empower the future leaders of our city with training events to help create a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Rochester.

The Equity Series leverages several of Rochester’s many organizations engaged in the fight to reduce poverty, combat discrimination, and provide opportunity for all. Each of the events in the Series will provide a framework for participants to reflect, interact with others, and develop tools to create positive impact in our community.

Each event will include light refreshments and time for networking with your fellow YP’s.

Join for our third event in the series: PRIVILEGE: Facing It, Framing It, Flipping It, a training by NCBI. This is the second of two sessions to be facilitated by NCBI.

The event is free, but please take a moment to RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ryp-equity-series-nbci-training-on-privilege-and-inclusion-at-work-pt-2-tickets-36491116913

Objectives:

The facilitators will share techniques for creating more inclusive, equitable, and closely connected work environments that allow for all voices to be heard and recognized.   Research shows that when we are empowered to be more authentic in our work relationships, teams function better, make better decisions, and achieve greater customer satisfaction.  By recognizing both the perspectives and experiences of both our team members and ourselves, we can develop work environments designed for all to succeed.

The session objectives are two-fold: first, we will examine the concept of ally building as a means to redirect privilege. Second, we will demonstrate intervention strategies for professionals to implement in their work environments.

  • NCBI Rochester looks forward to sharing this time together and invites you to ponder this question: “What is one thing that would be different if I were a stronger ally in interrupting privilege?”

This facility is accessible for people of all abilities.

Event cost is free, but a $5 donation at the door is suggested.

This program is being made possible by an anonymous donor of Rochester Area Community Foundation.
