RYP Outdoor Recreation: ADK-RYP Kayak Adventure
May 29, 2015 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
PLEASE NOTE: You must RSVP for this event through the registration form at this link: http://goo.gl/forms/JGRnZMT1Kq. If you RSVP for multiple people, please fill out the form for each participant. Deadline is Monday, May 25, but we’ll likely sell out before then!
The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) and Rochester Young Professionals (RYP) are once again teaming up for a casual paddle along Irondequoit Creek. It’s guaranteed fun for ALL SKILL LEVELS, so bring your friends!
We’re getting a sweet deal on kayak rentals. Kayaks are just $19.00 (including tandems, which comes to $9.50pp.) The kayaks are very stable, but paddling is a water sport — so come prepared to get wet!
You are welcome to bring your own kayak or canoe. There is a $5 launch fee at Bay Creek, or you can put in across the street at LaSalle Landing for free.
Please arrive no later than 6:00pm for a 6:30 launch. Paddlers will journey through the estuary between Irondequoit Bay and Ellison Park, returning to the dock at 8:30. After the paddle, we’ll refresh next door at MacGregor’s.
This is a rain-or-shine event. In case of lightning or extreme weather, we will skip the paddling and make it a social event.

TIP: Wear moisture-wicking clothes, and leave a spare set of clothes and a towel in your car. This way if you were to tip over or get wet while on the paddle you would have something comfortable to change into before eating or driving home. Shoes should be something you are not afraid to get wet or muddy.
